Seeking a Temporary People & Culture Lead to advise on a number of short term initiatives, reporting to the CEO (Approximately 3-6 month term - to be negotiated). We are open to candidates In Toronto or New York.

Staff consists of approximately 300 people with over 200 full time and the rest freelance or contractor, concentrated in the US with a small presence in Canada and the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of a people and organizational culture by ensuring everything that is needed to create EG as an employer of choice is in place
  • Design and implement processes, policies, procedures, systems and behaviours to foster creation of a vibrant workplace culture in a competitive marketplace where talent is at a premium and is foundational to achieving the company’s business targets
  • Create a compelling employer brand strategy that is authentic, unique and true, and resonates with the target employee demographic
  • Lead a people support function that is flexible and will scale to accommodate shifting people and culture requirements as the company grows
  • Create and implement process to generate and gather talent analytics to inform management reporting that is tied to business goals and provides input for the budgeting process
  • Build a performance management process and system
  • Create and implement a DEI strategy

Experience

  • Been responsible for providing HRBP services
  • Worked in a fast growth and/or intense, high performing, often changing environment
  • Led creation of corporate culture, ideally for merged entities that span geographies and bring divergent operating practices and cultures
  • Worked in organizations with reliance on creative talent and fluid workforces in industries such as media, entertainment, technology, retail, marketing/advertising agencies
  • Designed and implemented programs to foster employee engagement, attraction, development, and retention
  • Created and produced management information dashboards; implemented appropriate data generation and collation processes to synthesize and analyze human and organizational performance aligned with the overall business strategy and plan
  • Owned the full cross section of a robust people development function including talent recruitment and onboarding, leadership development, learning and development, compensation and benefits, compliance, employee relations and engagement, performance review and management, workplace analytics, job descriptions and evaluations
